I wonder if anyone has summed up the number of plates requested in this 90+ message thread? As Mr Derienzo stated early on, we need 500 plate reservations at $25 a pop. I suspect we have perhaps 125 on this list. It's going to take a more formal effort to get it going!

Quailman, you need one especially for your Wrangler, how else would one identify you as a BMW club member in a Wrangler no less.

I've been giving this some thought since this thread has been revived. There seems to be significant interest on this board, which represents only a fraction of active members.

I suggest, and of course volunteer to assist with (because I am a glutton for punishment) the following:

1. Select a few people to form a Plate Committee.
2. Design and decide on a final plate layout.
3. Open a bank account and separate PO box to be managed by the committee.
4. Create a letter to be sent to all NJBMWCCA members, perhaps set in the monthly newsletter, that outlines the proposal, the cost, and shows the proposed plate design. This letter will also explain where to send the check per set of plates.
5. Checks will be deposited into the bank account as escrow.
6. After a pre-determined amount of time, either the required number of plates will be ordered and payed for, or the money will be refunded.

Surely we have the talent and brain power to pull this off without much turmoil.
