What about the F15 X5??

Post by dbcafy »

Thinking about the F15 X5 for the wife and new family car. Looking at either a new or CPO xDrive35i or xDrive30D. What are your experiences with the newer SAV? The diesel gets better gas mileage. Is it worth the extra cost and time looking for a diesel gas station? What are your experiences? Looking to get this in the next 2-3 month.

Thanks,
Dave

F15 X5 3.5d is excellent choice for long distances and if your keeping vehicle a long time. Diesels hate short trips and lack of use.Diesel fuel is not as hard as you think to find, there are plenty of stations out there.

I love my 2014 X5 35d. It's by far the best SUV I've ever owned. Quiet, smooth, with great relaxed power. It's surprisingly quick. I get up to 34 mpg on trips. I agree with Ray - diesel isn't hard to find at all.

Hmm, interesting tidbit on short drives. I did some research after reading your posts. My wife's daily commute is 8 to 9 miles each way. We might not benefit from the diesel.

Thanks,

Now the BAD NEWS, BMW Dealers cannot sell any X5's, National Stop by BMW because of AirBag Mess !!!. Delivered the E46 M3 yesterday to its new owner because we were going to pick it up Wednesday, what a mess !!!! There was someone else that wanted to buy a CPO E92 M3, same boat, independent dealers and private sales are still open.

For the uninitiated, but interested, why are diesels bad on short drives?

Side note though, I had an X3 diesel as a service loaner from Morristown... It was love at first drive.
