Navigation Update

Received an offer for a navigation update for my 2001 740iL (E38). Any thoughts on this? And how do you remove the old CD from the nav unit? Thanks for any help.

what kind of offer? are you talking about later map disks? software update?

to remove disk is easy,in the trunk area on the left side(drivers side) ,the NAV computer is visible,press eject button to remove CD(or DVD if your unit was upgraded at one point)

The offer appears to be from BMW. Eight discs for $199. Supposedly a 2008 update for the USA/Canada.

The price is fair,you can call around to your dealers..see if they'll give a CCA discount on the 8-CD set. The profit margin is very small on the NAV CD's and DVD's. BMW Part number is 65 90 0 426 556.
