2001 M5 outside door weather stripping

Post by James1954 »

I have a 2001 M5 that I purchased out of California 2 years ago. I am slowly replacing rubber things as dry rot is an issue. The drivers side front doo outside weather stripping recently came off exposing the upper door to water if it rains. Bridgewater BMW give me a quote as you all know it is hefty since I want to replace the panels around the window since they have faded. Does anyone have any experience with this and a recommendation as to someone trustworthy to use. Thanks

My advice would be to work with a bodyshop. You will see a much lower cost per labor hour. We are $158. Bridgewater is prob about the same. We have done these for E39 owners as well as E46 M3 owners. The same thing happens to the rubber parts. It can be pricey, but through the bodyshop network, much better- Tim
