Looking for an M50 water pump pulley

Post by jimoreno »

I'm in NJ for a couple of days and was replacing the radiator, water pump, thermostat and housing of my son's touring (E34 525it) and the water pump pulley shattered coming out. Not sure if it was cracked before I got my hands on it but it's the only thing holding my back now (of course it had to happen about 6 PM on a saturday so no parts department open until Monday.
Any chance anyone has one of this lying around?

I'm not looking for the pulley hold down tool. The fan is out already. The pulley itself is broken and missing a big chunk. I've never needed that tool by the way, I just put the 32-mm wrench on the nut and give it a good whack with the hammer. It never fails!

If you are still looking I should have one. I am in parsippany It would be an older plastic one. I have had several E36s that I replaced the pulleys with underdrives. If you are looking PM me your phone number.

Ed:

Thanks to you the car is back on the road! That's the spirit of this club!

:D

Update: Car ran great for a day (Monday) although my son told me that he had one small "episode" where the temp gauge climbed up but quickly went back to normal (I thought it was a dislodged air bubble). On Tuesday the car overheated and after finding out that the fan clutch was a goner, I also noticed the auxiliary fan is not engaging. I think the head gasket is gone as I saw a small but continuous stream of bubbles coming up at the coolant reservoir.
So, next project: head gasket replacement )hope the head is not a goner!) and checking the auxiliary fan/temp sensor.
Anyone has the M50 timing tools? I'm doing a Vanos seal replacement as I suspect is not working properly even though is not giving out any codes.
