Repair keyed body panels.

Post by brunhuber »

Hi All,

My Focus got a scratch in it about 6" long that goes along my door and rear body panel. It's down to the metal. Are there methods to having this repaired aside from touch up paint or a full respray by a body shop?

Focus? What's that all about? I thought you guys only drove two-seaters!

Touch-up and body shop are the only two solutions I know of. This time of year it's especially important to protect the metal before corrosion can get to it.

Has anybody tried Dr. Colorchip on something like this? I hear it's great stuff but I haven't seen the results.

It's our one concession to practicality! We love hatchbacks for their versatility. At least it's a 3-door. No need for back doors!

as for Dr. Colorchip I bought a kit from them and then made the mistake of putting it away and not using it for over a year. When I finally did try to use it it had all dried up. Called them and they said that it has no shelf life. You must use it right away. It is expensive but I hear that it works good. I think you are best to just fill it up with Ford touch up paint and chalk it up to living in a world that has quite a few a-holes running around doing a-hole stuff.
