If your X5 is a 2005 with a V8 ,it's a N62. valley pan you are thinking of just seals off coolant. you did say smoke coming from the exhaust, you can even smell the burning oil.. I advise not to let this go too long becuase it is already damaging catalytics and o2 sensors.

I talked to a bmw service mechanic and he said that they do not do them any more. They send them out or tell them to keep it closed and enjoy the view. Does this BMW service mechanic work at a dealer? If so,that's strange if they send them out. Every dealer has sent either some or most of there tec...

At almost 100k ,there's no regret that the sensors were changed. you never mentioned what the codes are . both banks? pre and post? I completely agree with vic and have car properly diagnosed without throwing parts at it.CCV replacement probably a good idea anyway like Jeff said, might be the whole i...

They are available , but may not work well with older panoramic roof assemblies.Assuming the 530i was a single glass,it's much different than a double panel. kits have alot of small parts and easily broken if not done right. If you decided to try and do it , and have it all togther. be sure to opera...

If you decide to go used ,try and find a later production e83 .the frames are improved but still prone to failure. Even with a used one,I would buy the repair kits that are available and have them installed. If you are mechanically inclined to tackle this ,it's a tricky repair. the roof in your car ...

If the vehicle has no codes stored, plan a trip on a day with little or no traffic. drive between 40-60mph and put trans in 4th gear whether its manual or automatic. another words drive 50mph and do not let it slip below or above.if it does happen , the 10 minute clock starts over.
