Re: Need to get Timing Belt Changed on my E30
it's also worth pointing out this job is definitely DIY-able provided you have the right tools. Even I have done it! haha :-D DIYs from parts sites: http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/101-Projects-20-E30-Timing-Belt/101-Projects-20-E30-Timing-Belt.htm http://blog.bavauto.com/7246/bmw-m20-6...

Re: Low dust brake pad suggestion for my 2001 M3
For low brake pad dust I run Akebono Ceramic pads... but note they don't have quite the same bite nor stopping power, they are adequate however and have ridiculously little dust

Re: Roundel Repair?
strange... I've replaced various roundels on cars from the 80s (e28/e30) through the 00s and never once were they held on with anything other than pressure from rubber grommets

Re: F22 M Adaptive Suspension
As usual Ed is correct
Looks like a rear shock for M Adaptive is 37126861777 and $245 online (dealership parts dept), compared to $111 (dealership parts dept) for the standard rear shock
A front shock is 37106866515 and 37106866516 and $275 online (dealership parts dept), compared to $163 (ECS)

Re: Need help...problem with N52 misfire
after about 80 miles I got a pending misfire code on Cylinder 2, which is where I had put the coil from the previously misfiring Cylinder 6. So it looks like the cause for mine is a simple coil issue and hopefully this easy fix will be all she needs, I will install it this weekend and I will post ba...

Re: Need help...problem with N52 misfire
So today I pulled the plug and coil, plug looked normal
I put the plug into cylinder 1, and the coil into cylinder 2
I have done 46 miles since but so far it hasn't misfired yet so I still haven't narrowed it down

Re: Need help...problem with N52 misfire
strange timing for this thread as my wife's X5 is having similar issues, also with N52 but only with Cylinder 6 and it only has 35k on it. We do get a bit of gas smell too so where-as before I was leaning towards plug/coil now I'm wondering if I have a stuck exhaust valve as well I don't have tools ...

Re: E70 X5 - thoughts?
I hear you guys... I tried to get wifey into a minivan first, but she was having none of it and wanted to go back to an SUV like she had before we started having kids. She loved her e39 Touring so it was an easy sell to get her into an e70 X5 once she rejected a minivan

Re: DIY battery replacement e90
thanks! btw I found the best deal was at Batteries Plus in Whippany, at least for my e70 (may be different battery than your e90 and again you need to find the right or closest AH battery to what is currently in the car), more details on batteries for newer BMWs and some price shopping + warranty co...

Re: E70 X5 - thoughts?
Very cool, thanks for sharing. First of all, congrats on the 3rd! We just had our 2nd last summer. You may recall our Xterra (I picked up snow tires from you a few years ago). It's surprisingly small when you take trips while carrying all the baby stuff. This is part of the reason why we need to st...
