Re: E36 M3 water pump to fan clutch adapter?

I went to my closet mechanic and they were able to get the adapter off easily by holding it with a vice. Gave them $20 to buy beer and that was that. Don't know why more parts companies don't make these. For like $20 you can avoid having to put on an electric fan since the fan clutch fan won't clear...

Re: E36 M3 water pump to fan clutch adapter?

I'm trying to avoid the electric fan option. I don't want to spend any money on my car unless I have to. Plus have other projects I need to do instead. Hence, trying to find another adapter/extension. Plus have had electrical issues and sometimes don't drive the car enough so I don't want to add any...

Re: E36 M3 water pump to fan clutch adapter?

As a last resort I am thinking to buy some spacers and space the fan forward from the fan clutch. But I worry this might throw off the balance since the clutch and fan being held together adds some rigidity to the fan. Without that it may vibrate or wobble which eventually either the fan would break...

E36 M3 water pump to fan clutch adapter?

I've replaced my water pump on my E36 M3 3.2 ltr engine. But the fan clutch doesn't clear the supercharger pully. So I am looking for an adapter that will extend it out from the water pump by about 5/8 to 3/4 inches. Do you know where I can find one? Below is a picture of the one I removed. It looks...

Re: E36 M3 Throttle Body Repair?

Finally got it working without replacement. just needed a good cleaning. At first W-D 40 only helped a little. After a few days it penetrated and was a little better. Then used carb cleaner inside and out. Gave it another blast a little later and it finally had full range of motion on it's own. Then...

Re: E36 M3 Throttle Body Repair?

Yes, I have seen the part number on realoem. Still not really finding new ones online. One place said they could get one but it was over $400 so still searching for better options if there are any.

E36 M3 Throttle Body Repair?

I believe the throttle body is the one for a '95 M3 3.0ltr. (I have a 3.2 ltr with OBD1 conversion). Looks like the mechanisms that actuate the butterfly valve from the throttle cables has rusted causing the throttle to stick. Probably because I had no splash guards under the car for a while. What a...

Re: Black epoxy recommendation for e36 m3 front spoiler?

Thanx for the info. It will come in handy. I did buy an aluminum splash guard instead of the like 4 plastic pieces that go under their. Figure that will hold things in place well enough and the epoxy will finish the job where the spoiler was split. Thanx for the offer for the epoxy. My car isn't eve...

Black epoxy recommendation for e36 m3 front spoiler?

I need a recommendation for a black epoxy to hold together my '95 m3 front spoiler after hitting something on the highway. Don't want to keep putting money into the car so am ordering a metal skid plate to replace all the plastic OEM crap under the spoiler and engine. And need to epoxy the front spo...

Re: E36 M3 Anyone try Batteries in Parallel?

I've had an electrical system overhaul that got rid of excess parasitic drain on the battery and fixed connection problem that caused a bigger than normal drop in volts/amps from the alternator to the battery while driving. I had tried a solar power trickle charger that did nothing for me. But to be...

Re: E36 M3 Anyone try Batteries in Parallel?

@stix217 Not an option to have a quick disconnect. We get people coming through our complex often and going through peoples cars and steeling them too.

E36 M3 Anyone try Batteries in Parallel?

Any one try parallel car batteries in their car with or without issues? I have a '95 E36 M3 that doesn't get driven that much. Eventually the battery gets low and I don't have a way to charge the battery in the car. i.e. live in a condo with no garage. Anyone try having a couple batteries in paralle...

Re: Need a good mechanic near Jersey City.

Thanx a bunch!! I'll definitely look into those 2 options.

Right now I just need to have a seal or 2 replaced, that some other mechanic didn't replace right. And maybe a couple other odds and ends.

Need a good mechanic near Jersey City.

Need a good mechanic near Jersey City. Eurosport of Westfield may no longer be an option. I'll find out Monday if they are or not. Bimmer Clinic doesn't appear to be in Elizabeth any more. Dealers aren't an option due to mods on car. They won't touch it. And wouldn't trust them to any way.

Re: Need good tool and die / machine shop in north Jersey.

I've talked to Fikse already. They'd have me replace most of the pieces of the wheels which came to something like 3k give or take. (I had one of their authorized repair places do an analysis of each wheel. a bunch of years ago.) There's no way they would tell me if my idea was feasible or not due t...
