JULY 7 Autocross

Post by drautox »

First of all, a big thanks to all who made our June 23 autocross possible. Registration, timing and scoring, all our instructors for the large novice class, and all the flaggers running around in the sun, helped us run our 55 driver event smoothly.
Our next event is July 7; yes that is less than 2 weeks.
A course map can be seen here:

Any tips for first timers? Have done a few autocrosses before (not full day events) but this will be my first event with the BMW club

A few tips:

Bring water; it gets hot.
Remember to walk the course, as many times as you are able, before driving.
Grab an instructor for as many runs as you want.
Ride with an instructor.
Get to your assignment quickly. We lose more runs due to slow change overs than any other reason.

Other than this... just have fun!

We do drive in the rain, but it depends how hard it’s raining and whether there’s lightning. If the weather is questionable, a decision will be posted by 8am Sunday on the hotline: 908-322-2758, as well as here on the forum, and in an email to everyone registered on motorsportreg.com.

Results are posted here. Another beautiful day for autocross! We dodged all the thunderstorms, but not all the cones. Can't wait for next month!

Glad you enjoyed! Video of my seventh and quickest run - 44.314 and no cones! Tough course today, but fun. And lots of cool cars!
