Looking for a good honest BMW mechanic / shop in Central New Jersey .

Depends on car...I'd happily recommend Rick Kiceniuk for anything but very new

For new, Bridgewater BMW for me. Many like Village Garage in Oldwick, Shade Tree in Morristown.

With more info you could get better suggestions.

For many years I’ve gone to Mr. M Car in Farmingdale, both for routine maintenance and serious engine work: mrmcar.com. Worth a trip.

Mr M Car in Farmingdale would be my first choice for an independent BMW shop.
