O'fest prices going up Monday, August 31

Post by larryengel328 »

If you've been waiting until the last minute to sign up for Oktoberfest, don't wait any longer! Prices go up next week! The event is coming up soon - Sept. 21-27.

Whether you spend the whole week or only a day or two, you won't want to miss O'fest.. Check out the activities, schedule, and pricing at http://ofest.bmwcca.org.

Bill Auberlen and Brian Redman will be there to entertain us at the Friday banquet at Resorts in Atlantic City, and they'll be giving charity rides at NJMP Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of O'fest week!

We also have 2 days of Autocross at Bader Field in Atlantic City, Driver Schools, Club
Races, and more at NJMP from Thursday through Sunday.

There will be parties every night and Biergarten at the host hotel, the Seaview Resort in Absecon.

Join the fun!

For those who are planning to take their entire families (kids) to O'fest, what activities are you considering?
Do we need to pay registration fees for each child to attend $0 priced events?

Thanks,
a

I'm thinking kids are free if they're just along with the folks and not attending any of the banquets. I've asked National for the official policy and I'll let you know when I get the answer.

Just confirmed. Kids will not be charged a registration fee if they're not coming to any of the dinners.

I also want to add that driving school registrations for Sunday are very light. Many of you have complained in the past that we don't run enough of our schools on the weekend. This is your chance. We are not holding our traditional Introduction to the Track event this year so Ofest is the last chance you have to drive on Lightning this year with the chapter. As a bonus, if registrations stay down (and there is still plenty of room for more people while remaining undersubscribed) we may, no promises, be able to rearrange run groups and offer students 5 on-track run groups instead of the usual 4. What could be better than a weekend track day in September?

If anyone is already registered and wants to add Sunday, contact Steven Schlossman at national (sschlossman@bmwcca.org) and he will make the adjustment.

We'll see you there.

What is the deal for those that just want to spectate? Looking at the official schedule it is really unclear to me.

I was planning on going down for the day on Saturday just to check the whole event out and meet some friends who will be participating in some events. Any insight?

I asked the same question a month or so ago to the organizers, and you need to be registered as a participant (not a volunteer!) to attend even the free events.

I don't know how stringent badge checking is at each event.
I suspect no-one will make an effort to stop you from mingling in free social events (biergaten, etc). But if you decide to actively participate in an arranged activity, even a free one, that may or may not be embraced.

If you are coming down to NJMP on Saturday to spectate at the races and the driving schools, you do NOT need to register. This is just like any of our other events. When you arrive at NJMP just tell them you want to attend as a visitor. You will be asked to sign both the track and club waivers, you will get a wristband and then come on in. GFest is also happening on Saturday so come see more very clean E30s in one spot than you can imagine. There is also a vendor midway at Thunderbolt.

Alex may have misunderstood about attending free events. This was referring to things like the various seminars, receptions and the beer garten being held at Seaview. For those things, you need to be a registered attendee.

Hey Jeff,

Do you know if there are anymore spaces for the Driving school on Saturday(Lightning). I see the registration at 75. Maybe I'll bring my track wheels instead of my golf clubs tomorrow.

Thanks,
