New to Autocross

Post by RSteckhahn »

I've been a BMWCCA member for about 4 years now and have attended a driving school. I'm super excited to participate in an autocross event and hope to attend regularly (attending additional driver schools has proven challenging schedule and cost wise). I'm a bit nervous about being a new guy that doesn't know what he's doing at an event like this. Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself on here and look forward to meeting some of you on the 12th!

Cheers!

Rich,

Welcome! Don't worry about being the new guy. We all started the same way. Don't be shy asking for help; even if the team looks busy. We are here to help you.

Hi Rich,

Yes, welcome. As Mark said we were all the new guy at one point. At each autocross there are friendly and helpful instructors who are happy to ride with you and show you the ropes. I highly recommend that, at least for the first couple of runs. After several years I still grab one occasionally.

Bring something to drink, a snack or lunch, and sunscreen. Get gas before you come. Have fun.

Matthew
