MAY 20 AUTOCROSS
You won't get any argument from me...in fact I'm thinking of lodging a protest to that effect.MTROIS wrote:Looks like the '77 320i "skunk works" belonged to B class, no?

You guys are welcome to class the car and figure it out. We did and it came out to barely a C class car.
'77 E21 320i
M42 (91 E30 318i) engine swap
Weight reduction
Welded diff
Coil over suspension
2.5 deg. front camber
15" wheels (13" stock)
According to Boston chapter the car starts with 31.7 points, NY chapter starts with 0 points. We were only testing the car and having fun, not trying to be competitive in a class.

We we scratching our heads as well but you have to land somewhere and the math says "C" (dammit ). My only grounds for protest would be that no one considered the stuffed skunk. That has to be worth at least 18.6 points.turbodiesel wrote:You guys are welcome to class the car and figure it out. We did and it came out to barely a C class car. ... Great driving, both of you--you were the fastest BMW in the field, in any class!
