Problem with Viper 300 alarm on e30m3

Post by brewsterE30M3 »

Can't get my fuel pump to work on my '88 e30m3 with Viper 300 alarm installed. Bought car not running, just had it rebuilt, now cant get f/pump to work. Alarm (installed in '92) has a starter-kill switch which seems to be de-powering my f/pump. Hot wired f/pump works fine.

Do I yank the Viper alarm or try to locate wiring diagram and troubleshoot?

Anybody with a wiring diagram or similar issue with a Viper 300?

TIA,
Bruce :(

Bruce,

My vote is to remove the alarm from your twenty year-old car, get the ETK online or from dealer (I could prolly email) and correct the wiring back to stock.

Viper 300 on e30m3 problem

Post by brewsterE30M3 »

Hi Rob,

Rich Kiceniuk and I worked on it for 2 hours on Sat. morning, most of the alarm has been removed and the pump still doesnt work using the ign switch (key).

We dont have a wiring diagram for the Viper, however we both have e30 schematics and think we have it narrowed down. RK was still working on it when I left Sat. at 2:30pm......quite puzzling indeed.

Hopefully we'll be fired up by Turkey (or Turn key) Day. :D

if poss email the Viper wiring (e30) at: am.derites@comcast.net

Regards,
Bruce

Viper 300 alarm in e30m3

Post by brewsterE30M3 »

Ray and Bob,

RK removed the entire VIper system later Sat. afternoon (after I left of course) and it fired up OK. The starter kill switch was actually locking out the f/pump as we suspected. It was just a bear to troubleshoot then remove

Hopefully I'll have the ///M home by Thanksgiving Day......no funny comments pls.

Thanks for Rich Kiceniuk's perseverance on this one.

Anybody need a slightly used Viper 300 alarm sys?

Regards,
Bruce
