The car runs very well for its age, has a current inspection and should pass without issue. While the car runs fine now, this is high mileage and will require some TLC and work to make the next 100K miles. A perfect vehicle for a DIY E46 enthusiast.
Following is a VERY complete list of all the known items the car currently requires:
Cosmetic (all optional depending on buyer needs):
- While the paint is still glossy, the car does some have hail dents, and expected road rash normal on the front of a car with this mileage.
There are no tears in the leather but the front driver’s seat and arm rest needs to be recolored, and the rear seat back needs to be restitched on each side of the center panel.
Mechanical:
- Common oil leaks at valve cover gasket, oil filter housing and vanos hose
All power steering hoses leaking
Front struts need to be completely rebuilt, only item to be reused is the spring
Windshield cover and Left Bulkhead plastic trim panels need to be replaced
- The on-board computer (OBC) display selector only works occasionally. Caused by a broken wire in the directional signal stalk that can be repaired at no cost.
Driver side view mirror motors do not work.
