Need High End Body shop to Paint front bumper and side skirt

Post by Catanzaro »

Can anybody recommend a body shop that will paint a few peices on a vehicle. No body damage. Front bumper and side skirts on a 2004 745 Li (Alpine White). The years have damaged the paint and even a clay bar will not remove the built in dirt. All other areas like new. Around Edison NJ, Freehold NJ or Bridgewater NJ area. Must remove off vehicle and paint properly. Please advise?

I was happy with the job Somerville Collision did painting a new hood for my 318ti (car + deer = new hood).

They were recommended to me by Hunterdon BMW and seemed to have a lot of BMWs parked there.

Have you considered JMK BMW's Bodyshop? Or Garden State in Islen on rt 27 does work for Open Road.

+1 on the JMK body shop recommendation, but they are not inexpensive.

The front bumper may still need to be painted (due to chipping) but have you tried a cleaner wax or polish on the sideskirts? I have an e32 7-series (white) and my mother has a 2007 CTS (pearl white) and that area is cleaned by ME on both cars. I know it is hard to keep that area clean, but its definetly possible. You may want to start doing this even after you get them painted.

Body Shop

Post by Catanzaro »

Please provide me with phone numbers on any body shops. Also I purchased the car as a CPO. I baby my cars. I just cleaned the car with a clay bar (took 8.5 hours) inside door jambs, trunk, etc. Added 1 coat of a sealant and waited 24 hours to allow it to cure. Then added 2 coats of wax (NXT Generation) and Mother California Gold. Alpine White. Car looks like Glass with some depth to it. Car is smooth as glass.

Please provide me phone number and address of other additional body shops. I am familiar with Somerville. That may be my best bet.

Body Shop

Post by Catanzaro »

When car was cleaned, the front bumper and side skirts did not come out the way I wanted them to. I need a body shop to prepare car properly & not use cheap paint so paint will adhere and not chip or crack under stress. These areas did not come out properly.

Body shop to repair M3 in Union County?

Post by OJMc »

I live in Union County and need a good body shop. I have had my 2003 M3 Cabrio for all of 3 weeks and some idiot hit my car in a parking lot. Damage is to the rear bumper, tail light and a small dent to the little strip of the quarter panel between the tail light and bumper.

Any recommendations on a good body shop in Union County? I did not realize that JMK had a body shop. Any idea of their shop will be on the approved list for Geico? I want to car repaired properly be a good body shop, but would like insurance to cover the cost.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I didn't think insurance can force you to use a body shop you don't want. Insurance tried to make me take my car to car star, or some such place. I told them "where to put it" and took it to Princeton BMW, they still paid.

Okay, JMK it is! I pass it twice everyday on my commute. I got in touch with them a few minutes ago and they told me to just stop by for an estimate.

Dennis and Don's Collision, Route 130N in North Brunswick. Tel: 732-297-7933. They have worked on several of my cars, BMWs and otherwise. Ask for Dennis or Kathy and say you were referred by Dr. N with two 740s

+1 for JMK. I had them paint the rear spoiler on my E30. This is a tough part to paint due to the elasticity of the component. They never saw my actual car, they used my VIN to match the paint and it came out great! I got what I paid for.

+3 on JMK. I've used them a couple of times, they did a good job and were very easy to deal with.
