N51 Fuel Filter/Pump

Hi - I'm looking for information on the fuel pump/filter combo in the e90 with the N51 SULEV engine. I'm aware that it's under the rear seat, and any basic research I've looked at (online tutorials, other forums, YouTube videos, etc) don't really give start to finish detail or how to do the job. It doesn't help that I lack a Bentley Manual for this car.
1) What's the normal interval for replacement (preventative), or common age of failure. I have 90K miles on my car.
2) Any advice on the replacement procedure, fuel level to replace at, or even if it's a "plug and play" type set up?
