BMW Coding

Post by pnosker »

I'm not sure if there's any interest, but I have learned how to code BMWs. I've only coded my own 2008 135i but I believe this should work with 2000+ BMWs (maybe not 2010-2011 with the cable I have). I can do full electronic diagnostics of E36+ as well (I think).

Things you can do with coding:
Disable iDrive warning
Disable TPMS
Add "Efficient Dynamics" shift indicator
Remove BMW's 3 mph speedometer "correction" and restore to actual speed
Digital speedometer on cluster
Roll up windows by holding lock button on remote

And more!

If you're interested, send me a private message. I'm in Stockton, NJ. I won't charge you anything but if you want to donate to my Autocross fund I would be happy to accept. I will also take generous beer/other alcohol donations. Or cigars. But none of that is necessary!

Cool! Can you disable the obnoxious alarm beep on my E46?

Additionally, I can probably meet between Stockton, NJ and New Brunswick/Piscataway, NJ (I'm a Graduate Student at Rutgers) if you're along the way or not far out of the way.

Finally, I will bring the tool and my laptop to the August 7 Autocross if you want me to do anything there. Please PM me first though so I know to bring it.

Successfully coded Colin's 2001 325i to: Remove alarm "beep" sound, remove check control for his LED brake lights, enable fogs with high beams, and clear his Airbag code!

Sounds great! What can you do about the whining coming from the driver's seat?

Driver's seat whining? Like the seat airbag sensor causing the light to go on?

I think the only cure for that is to replace the airbag module that's sitting in the drivers seat. :P
