"A further shuffle [of the BMW ALMS team] is also taking place, somewhat behind the scenes: Martin Birkmann, outgoing head of BMW North America Motorsport, is headed back to Germany as manager of powertrain strategy for the BMW Group, and will be replaced here in the U.S. by Larry Koch at the start of 2011."

Congratulations to Martin on the new appointment! Sounds like an easy job - all he has to do is develop a motor with the power and sound of the S65 that gets 50 mpg!
Congratulations to Larry, as well. His appointment assures that the racing program will remain in good hands!
