Xi vs i

I'm looking at purchasing a CPO e90 sedan as a daily driver. A have another BMW for track and pleasure. For 25 years I've driven e30s and e46s and had snow tires on rims for winter. Trying to weigh doing the same with the e90 vs getting an X drive version. I typically keep my cars to around 180K mil...

Street/HPDE coilover kit

I'd like to replace my stock shocks/struts and springs with a coilover setup on my 3.0 si Coupe. I'm not looking for something too aggressive, I'm only in the intermediate group at this point and I drive the car regularly on the road, but I definitely want to reduce roll and improve handling. I run ...

Wow! What a great reflection on our chapter and it's leadership! Seems like you'll need a lot of support from the members. Will you be looking for volunteer support beyond a typical "non-Ofest" year or does that come from the national folks?

Any interest in selling the wheels and tires separately?

Thanks, Bill

Feedback on the F30 and N20

I'm contemplating purchasing a CPO 328i Sportline as my daily driver. I will have my E86 for pleasure, track and all around straight six nirvana. Does anyone, particularly the dealership sales and service guys, have any feedback or experience on how the F30 platform and the N20 have been holding up....

Help Needed - Brake Lining Message Reset

I just replaced front and rear pads, front rotors and f/r sensors on my friend’s e53 X5 (2005 4.4i). It stops on a dime (relatively speaking or a massively heavy BMW) but I can’t get the “check brake lining” message and red brake light to go out. Help please! Here are what I think are the pertinent ...

The rims look great Ron and it sounds like your due diligence is paying off!

Best of luck with the final test at the next AutoX and then on to Thunderbolt!

Ron, What setup did you ultimately go with? I have the same stock setup on my Z4 Coupe and would love to get out of the cycle of replacing the fronts and rears on different schedules. I realize I'd have to contemplate my own vehicles clearances but I was interested in the wheel width and tire size y...

E86 Carbon Fiber Splitter

I've been looking for some time for a carbon fiber front splitter for my Z4 Coupe with no luck. I'm looking for something similar to what is available for the e90 and e46 M3 or even the e89 Z4. Does anybody know of a place that would fabricate one? if so is the price for a one-off prohibitive? Thank...

Front End Noise

I was backing my coupe up in the driveway tonight. Had the wheel locked and was backing up slowly. A few feet into my back-up I felt/heard a thump as if something was binding and then releasing in the right front end. It happens while backing up with the wheel locked or close to locked in either dir...

Summer Only tires at the 4/7 event?

This year will be my first time attending the first event of the season. I have summer only Pilot Super Sports on my car which have been fine for the June-October events. If we're looking at 30s or low 40s on the morning of 4/7 is that a problem for the summer or track compounds?

Thanks, Bill
