Re: Father's Day Car Show (Flemington, NJ)

Thanks for the heads up. sounds like a good way to get out of the house and avoid yard work. Just an FYI I think Fathers day is on the 16th this year.

PS. My e30 is over due for a timing belt replacement. If the engine blows I may need some prayers.

Re: Seat Upholstery vendor recommendation?

I have not had the work done yet but someone in club a while back recommended to me Great Buffalo Upholstery in Union to restore my leather seats. FWIW.

it's also worth pointing out this job is definitely DIY-able provided you have the right tools. Even I have done it! haha :-D DIYs from parts sites: http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/101-Projects-20-E30-Timing-Belt/101-Projects-20-E30-Timing-Belt.htm http://blog.bavauto.com/7246/bmw-m20-...

Hey thanks for posting that link. As one who is currently struggling with mechanical issues I really needed that attitude adjustment. I'm almost looking forward to attacking that next rusty nut.

I use BMW's Ultimate Drive App to find nice road/routes to take when I'm on a trip. It works good. I use an iphone, not sure if its available on other types.

I really enjoyed that. Thanks. Also, there is a DVD called "CAN-AM The Speed Odyssey" that has some old (60's, 70's) footage of the bridge including some in car footage. Its narrated by Sam Posey and Jim Hall. Its very good. For what its worth.

If I didn't already own one...

Drove by a really nice e30 today on route 222 in Kutztown PA. Silver Baur with black top. 5 speed. Sorry didn't get a price, they were closed.

Just in case anyone is looking for a nice e30.

For those of us rookies does this mean you better not go off course or you will be into the concrete base of a light pole or is it a no miss on fun location?

BTW love your pic of the e30 race car at the Lodge.

I usually go to Dave Graham at Oldwick Village Garage if I need something done I can't do myself. If he's not available I would go to Rich Kiceniuk's shop in Annandale. fwiw.

Yeah, I'm extreamly bummed about all this. I've been watching F1 on Speed for many years and have been a very satisfied viewer.

Just awoke my e30 today from its winter hibernation since it was sufficiently sunny outside. Disconnected the tender, changed the oil, cleaned the air filter, adjusted the tire pressures and away I went down to Advance Auto to get rid of the used oil. Always runs great and always a blast to drive :D...

Thanks for the heads up on these roads (not too far from me) and the app which I just downloaded, looks interesting. Only with the weather we've been having lately I'm not sure I'll see a crisp fall day any time soon. Btw imho all good driving roads need to end at a microbrewery  .
