Re: Oktoberfest event - general query
It will be my first time as well. I would sign up for any driving events quickly as they will fill up. If you get the social package; it will cover most of the non-driving. How/where would you like to volunteer? Every group will need help. Hospitality will need a lot of people for sure. Thank you f...

Oktoberfest event - general query
Hi everyone! Sorry if 'Club Meetings' is not correct forum, but I couldn't find anything on Oktoberfest and hence my reach out in this forums. Greatly excited to be coming to my first Oktoberfest! :) Since our NJ CCA is involved, I signed up for a volunteer even though my technical knowledge is zero...

A BIG thanks for a splendid 2 day school!
I drove back late last night after a fantastic two day event @ our Summit school. Would like to offer my sincere thanks for the organizers and volunteers for enabling us to have a fun time that made guys like me (driving on the track for the first time on a stick) both learn and enjoy. I was lucky t...

Re: Any tips for first timers to Shenandoah?
Since this is not your first track event you know the basics: be sure your car has had a thorough pre-event inspection, come prepared for all weather, stay hydrated. If possible, come to Tech at the Track on Friday evening so you can sleep in a bit on Sat morning. In terms of Shenandoah-specific in...

Re: Any tips for first timers to Shenandoah?
Learning how to heel/toe when downshifting is probably the most popular thing students "don't bring to the track. If you don't know, or were afraid to ask, find someone who does and go learn it. A quote from Blake Smith, with a stick, "you should never come to a stop in any thing higher than second...

Any tips for first timers to Shenandoah?
Hi, I am driving down from Jersey City, NJ, and this will be the first time I am going to be on the track with a stick. Prior schools (both our "Intro to driving" Oct schools) were on an automatic. So, highly excited! :D Request: can the experienced members offer any pointers that will make us learn...

Update: Definitely plan to go back to Jacob once I have the funds lined up for the transmission fluid work. :) Wow. I'm not sure if it's BMW or cars in general, but does the phrase above really blow people's minds? Since when is having your tranny fluid something that required cashing out your 401k...

Update: Jacob was FANTASTIC. I am not exaggerating. I made a mistake during one of the extra orders and Jacob was awesome in taking care of it and ensuring that I was fine with the outcome. Definitely plan to go back to Jacob once I have the funds lined up for the transmission fluid work. :) quite t...

Yup, Jacob is very good! I am taking the car to him for the AWD transfer case change. (Decided to do the transmission fluid change later once I can budget for it. A bit high for me as of now.) Not only did he apologize for the delay many times, he also explained the reason and was able to offer me a...

Thank you Larry and Tim. Larry - Email was only method of contact; did not use the phone. Tim - I agree, Jacob's service was very good when I took the car to JMK last year and that is why I reached out to him again for the bigger work. Only reason I approached our forum seeking guidance was because ...

Service person at JMK (or other NJ dealership)?
Hi, I have a '06 530xi (68k) and plan to change the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) + filter, and the all-wheel drive transfer case. Thinking of doing it at a dealership and the service person I knew at JMK (Jacob Kolasinki) hasn't responded to my query for some time. Wondering if any member know...
