Re: E46_Fault Code D7

Thanks. I am planning on getting the car up in the air over the weekend to inspect the post Cat O2 sensors.

E46_Fault Code D7

My Peak Fault code reader showed a D7 fault code which translates to: After Cat oxygen sensor disconnection, Cyl #1-3. I reset the fault, and the SES light did not re-illuminate, but what was this fault code referring to? i.e. actual physical electrical disconnection, bad O2 sensor, etc. Car info: 2...

Re: 1997 328i running like a dog

You can also give Joe C. at MS Euro Tuning. (732) 642-9755 He is located near Mrs. G's in Lawrenceville. He takes care of anything I don't want to work on.

Good luck,
Al

PS. I am in Upper Freehold, you can stop by as perhaps you are just overlooking something simple.

Re: Loose steering - e46

Just an update. I could not find any issue with the flexible steering coupler, the rubber was soft and no additional movement when the wheels were shaken from 3 and 9 O'clock. The rubber in the front control arm bushings was hard, but not broken, but I decided to replace these, and this appears to h...

Re: Loose steering - e46

Another thought, could this problem be caused by bad control arm bushings?

Re: Loose steering - e46

I am running Goodyear F-1's 225/45, I have the same tires on my Z3 without any issues.

The rubber steering coupler that connects the steering wheel shaft and rack and pinion box is also sometimes called a 'guibo'.

Front and rear bushings all checked out OK.

Loose steering - e46

2000 323i, ~100K miles The steering on my e46 feels loose, and the car drifts when going over uneven road surfaces. The front struts and rear shocks were replaced and an alignment done about 3K miles ago (I thought that this would fix the problem). The control arms were replaced about 30K miles ago....

Neat, but does anyone have personal experience with this lift? I would like to know if the front to back or side to side cross members block access to points underneath the car. i.e. on an e46, do the front to back lift members block access to the fuel filter? They appear to be wide, and I can see t...

I would like to get on the 'interested' list. My wife is willing to give it a shot and suggested that our daughter (21) also attend as perhaps this would give the deer a fighting chance. :?

Keith, I believe the problem is that I baby my cars and not drive them enough. A car needs to be driven.

BTW - I used high temp brake grease on the guide bolts.

Ray,

Yes, it's a keeper, I purchased it new, and with only 86K miles, I should have it for a while.

I ordered two rebuilt calipers and will flush the brake fluid as part of the repair.

Thanks for your help,
Al
